Trust & security

Great knowledge starts with clear boundaries.

The most useful knowledge usually comes from experience. People should understand what stays private, what they may choose to share and how information is reviewed before it is used by others.

Technician

Private by default

Personal knowledge starts private.
New personal reports and tips are not silently exposed to an organisation.
Membership is not sharing.
Joining an organisation creates a collaboration context; it does not transfer ownership of the technician's private workspace.
Sharing is deliberate.
Direct access, organisation contribution and sharing rules are explicit product actions.
Advisor

Governed knowledge

Provenance stays visible.
Global, organisation and private knowledge are distinct layers.
Applicability matters.
General principles and manufacturer/model/powertrain-specific detail should not be blurred together.
Review matters.
Evidence, version, review ownership and review dates are part of the knowledge model.
Product boundaries

One ecosystem does not mean one giant database.

Identity, Technician and Advisor have different jobs. UnderTorque keeps those boundaries because the safest architecture is often the one people can understand.

Identity

Handles the person's account, authentication and canonical organisation relationships. It does not become the product database.

Technician

Owns Technician product data, sharing rules, roles and its own session. Private technical knowledge stays inside the Technician boundary.

Advisor

Owns Advisor knowledge, publication state, local roles and its own session. It does not read the Technician database directly.

Customer data

UnderTorque is not designed to become a customer or job database by accident.

Technical learning should not require customer names, addresses, phone numbers or other unnecessary personal details. Advisor is not a CRM, DMS or job-card system.

Keep technical evidence focused on the vehicle concern, test, result and fix.
Do not use screenshots containing customer data as public marketing evidence.
Do not expose staging hosts, credentials, raw cookies or tokens.
Do not add tracking pixels, session replay or third-party form processors without explicit approval and privacy review.
What we do not claim

Marketing does not get to overrule implementation truth.

The public site must follow the actual accepted state of each product. A design decision or staging branch is not the same thing as a production capability.

No invented capability

Blocked or unaccepted Identity, logout or Advisor capability is not marketed as live.

No invented proof

No fake customer counts, savings, certifications, partnerships or testimonials.

No invented certainty

Knowledge governance may expose evidence and review health, but it should not fabricate a confidence score.
